Once again, we read Basildon Council plans to sell off more verdant pastures to finance its ill thought out projects.

Stephen Horgan is quoted as stating: “Losing the green belt space would be a price worth paying”. What utter rubbish.

The current policy of this council is to hell with the electorate’s thoughts, it will do whatever it wants, irrespective of the financial burden imposed on the residents of the district. Dry Street should never be sold off to the highest bidder for the land.

A new college campus will not improve the quality of tuition to students or alternatively provide them with a better education than the current educational facilities.

No Basildon Council, think again, Dry Street is not available for building on.
