I simply could not believe my eyes when I read about the way the spy camera has treated Alan Davison (Letters, Nov 8).
George Orwell’s 1984 has certainly arrived in Southend, albeit a few years late.
I suggest the only practical way for Southend people to show their contempt of the spy camera is for everyone to start to use their mobile phone cameras to photograph the spy camera car every time they see it in Southend, just as it constantly photographs us.
It will be interesting to see how the spy camera driver feels then when everyone constantly spies on him, just as he constantly spies on us.
