Following the article “Sainsbury’s reveals its designs for Roots Hall”, I emphasise Sainsbury’s plan to keep a strong presence in Southend town centre.
Since the article, I have been overwhelmed by queries from our customers concerned they would lose a valuable town centre store. This is not the case.
Sainsbury’s has a long history of serving the town and has made a legal commitment to trade from the town centre for at least ten years after the new store at Roots Hall opens.
We believe the two stores will work well together, with the town centre store providing groceries and daily essentials, and the Roots Hall store able to offer our full range of products, including our clothing range.
