Yet again, councillors who are in charge of Basildon Council are showing scant regard for the people who live in our town.
Where is their sense of priority, or indeed, common sense in continually spending ratepayer’s money on unnecessary projects in the borough, while withdrawing funding for wardens in sheltered housing?
The huge sums of money spent on Lake Meadows in the past couple of years comes to mind. Have these older citizens paid their taxes and fought wars to preserve our freedom only to be treated with contempt by our council? What kind of society has the older generation spawned that so little regard is given to their elders?
Basildon is nothing without the people who live there. They come first, so treat them with the fairness and dignity they deserve.
