I have been following the stories of the lack of Royal Mail deliveries to unmade roads in the Benfleet area.
I find it surprising the people who live in unmade roads receive any deliveries at all.
I speak from the experience of delivering takeaways to the unmade roads off Pound Lane, Bowers Gifford.
Myself and other delivery drivers find the experience extremely harrowing, and damaging to our vehicles.
Not only are the roads incredibly uneven and full of potholes, there is also no street lighting, which makes searching for specific properties after dark almost impossible.
People living in unadopted roads such as these should take the rough with the smooth (excuse the pun), as the reduction in council tax due to the substandard roadways should go hand in hand with a lack of deliveries.
