One of our judges has proclaimed that it is OK for anyone to use the F-word, as it is just a normal word acceptable for everyday use and it is no longer an offence to swear at policemen carrying out their duties.
This must mean that it is OK to use this language in court. So anyone answering a judge would be entitled to swear at him or her? I don’t think so.
The law lords should immediately reverse this decision, and rebuke the judge who made it before every foul-mouthed lout who has already been fined for this offence appeals and demands compensation for wrongful arrest and prosecution.
How can we ever expect to maintain acceptable standards of behaviour if judges are allowed to decimate our language and dilute the laws of the land?
