Eversley playing fields is yet another children’s playing field that is on the growing list of recreation areas which could be sold off for development by Basildon Council.
Yet again this is another field in the southern wards of the borough.
Councillor Kevin Blake recently warned Pitsea swimming pool may have to be a “sacrificial lamb” in order to regenerate the Pitsea Centre. It would appear, what with the numerous playing fields being proposed for development to fund the Sporting Village shortfall, that the sacrificial lamb is turning into quite a flock.
It seems this Conservative administration is incapable of realising that immediate local facilities, such as playing fields or swimming pools, are much needed, especially for those that cannot afford to travel to the Sporting Village, let alone pay to go in it.
What other playing fields are on the council list for development and when will they also be disclosed to residents?
