Job Title: Customer Account Collector
Department: Newspaper Sales
Responsible to: Newspaper Sales Manager
Main Objectives:
- To be responsible for the payment of copies either via cash (Pay-at-Door) or alternative methods (Pay-by-Mail/Direct Debit)
Job Requirements:
- To provide a reliable and efficient service to all Pay-at-Door customers on your allocated area, on a weekly basis.
- To complete and maintain accurate customer payments.
- Following collection, all money to be banked immediately.
- To maintain and promote alternative methods of payment (Pay-by-mail/Direct Debit) on your area on an ongoing basis.
- To encourage Pay-at-Door customers to pay in advance prior to holiday periods.
Responsibilities:
In order to achieve the above job requirements the customer account collector must:
- Keep and maintain accurate details of all customer payments.
- Ensure that the amount of customers’ money owed to the Company is accurate at all times. Any discrepancies or shortfalls in collected monies will be your responsibility and, as such, you will be expected to reimburse the Company.
- Collection books must be available at any time for inspection by a Company representative.
- Company provided paperwork must be used at all times and customer signatures must be obtained.
- Encourage existing Pay-at-Door customers to convert to alternative methods of payment (Pay-by-Mail/Direct Delivery).
- The level of outstanding customer monies must be maintained within the agreed limits.
- The office MUST be kept informed of any changes to customer information by agreed deadlines.
