After reading some letters this week on Tarpots at Benfleet returning to traffic lights, I am really looking forward to being able to once again drive across like I did in the Eighties.
At the moment I am too afraid to drive anywhere near the roundabout, nearly having had two accidents trying to get either across to Rushbottom Lane or going round to the London Road.
I use Rushbottom Lane to meet my grandchildren from school three days a week, so I go out of my way to go down Kents Hill Road turning into the London Road to avoid the mini roundabout at Tarpots.
You have to hope for the best when using those awful mini roundabouts.
At least lights will go red and drivers have to stop. At the moment some drivers just don’t bother to take note of the give-ways and nearly drive straight into you, as happened to my daughter-in-law recently.
She had her car written off after a driver ignored the give way. The sooner the lights are installed, the better.
