Regarding the proposed closure of Queensway House, Essex Street, half of the third floor provides a venue for the E60 club.
This club provides much needed recreation for the retired community of Southend.
It is open five days a week and includes activities such as dancing, snooker, table tennis, art, bridge and hosts a whist drive. There is also a small canteen.
All completely run by volunteers.
It has a membership of approximately 300 and is a lifeline for many lonely pensioners.
It is situated in a convenient location for transport.
I do hope Southend Council will provide suitable alternative premises for this much needed centre.
