I have lived in the street of Culverdown, Basildon, for many years, and reading an article in the Echo (March 1), prompted me to write.
I can honestly say we have never had any antisocial behaviour in our street. All my neighbours are friendly, look out for each other and have a sense of community spirit.
I feel the article raised a totally isolated incident and therefore should be corrected.
As for the police saying “they are aware of issues involving antisocial behaviour in Culverdown”
maybe they could let us residents know about it as we are totally unaware.
Yes, there is a park nearby, but that isn’t actually in Culverdown. Youths do hang around there, but that’s because there isn’t anywhere else for them to go. It goes on everywhere in Basildon, but they never “terrorise” us residents.
