PREPARE to be dazzled as dramatic show Cirque du Ciel takes to the stage at the Cliffs Pavilion , where acro-bats embrace an Olympic theme for a new show.

The mindblowing antics of the talented acrobats and contortionists will have their audiences open-mouthed when they bring their new show ShangHi to Southend, with an Olympic feel to the action and featuring the talents of the sensational Beijing Acrobatic Troupe.

Set in Shanghai, the story follows a young girl, Yan Yang, who above the noise and bustle of the city, dreams of being a circus performer.

And when she opens a magic box, the sun and moon come together in a frenzy of acrobatic activity to introduce two hours of modern dance, acrobatics, gymnastics and martial arts.

There’ll be dazzling circus displays of favourites like Mexican hat juggling, terrifying yet beautiful aerial displays and the famous, death-defying Chinese monkey poles – combined in an extravaganza of tumbling, spinning, and evocative live drumming.

It’s already picked up rave reviews as it’s toured internationally and with decadent costumes and dramatic set and lighting to match the acrobatic talent of the performers, it’s a show that’ll leave the whole family boggle-eyed and amazed.

Cirque du Ciel comes to the Cliffs Pavilion, Station Road, Westcliff Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26, at 7pm. There is a Monday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets are £17.50-£24.50, call 01702 351135.
