THIS is the man who committed an armed robbery at a jewellers in Shoebury.
Police have released an e-fit in the hope someone will recognise one of two crooks who struck at Andrews Jewellers, in West Road, threatening staff with crowbars.
Some diamond rings and other items of jewellery were stolen.
The two men then walked out and got into a waiting blue Citroen Picasso which was parked near to the vet surgery on Richmond Avenue at 9.30am on Tuesday, October 16.
This vehicle was recovered near Thorpe Bay Yacht Club on Barrow Sands a short time later.
Investigating Officer, Det Con Andy Coles, said: "We’re still looking for witnesses to the actual robbery and those who saw the men transfer into a blue Picasso at the yacht club.
"We would also urge people to take a long, close look at the efit and contact us with a name. This man and his accomplice need to be taken off the streets before they have the opportunity to strike again.”
The man pictured in the efit is described as being of Mediterranean appearance, is aged in his mid to late 20s, is approximately six foot tall and is of slim build. He was wearing a jacket with the hood up and khaki trousers.
Nobody in the shop was injured.
Anyone with information in connection with this robbery is urged to contact detectives at Southend police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
