A FORMER Runwell Hospital nurse has been accused of sleeping on the job while she should have been monitoring mental health patients.
Aminat Adedokun worked on the medium-secure Belfairs Ward at the hospital run by South Essex Partnership NHS Trust as a temporary bank nurse in 2008.
The nurse is facing a fitness to practice hearing in central london next month facing two charges.
One is that during the night shift of April 30 to May 1 2008 between 3am and 4am she slept while supposedly carrying out observations on a patient, and therefore did not carry out the required observations.
The other allegation is that between March 1 and July 1 2008 during unknown night shifts she also slept while conducting observations of patients.
If proved the nurse could be struck off, suspended, issued with a warning or working conditions or made to undertake training.
