Police were called to Southchurch Road, near the junction with Christchurch Road, in Southend yesterday following a collision at around 5:10pm.
The woman, in her 20s, thought to be from the Hockley area, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was rushed to Southend Hospital, although it is not clear exactly what happened.
