THE A127 has reopened at Rayleigh Weir after an accident and flooding closed it earlier.
The A1245 Chelmsford Road in Rayleigh is closed in both directions at the Fairglen Interchange with the A127 because of flooding.
Drivers were stuck in gridlock for several hours earlier between Rayleigh Weir and A130 and north bound on the A129 to the Chase junction.
Traffic lights were down at Rayleigh Weir and Eastwood Road was gridlocked with diverted drivers.
Trains on the Southend to Fenchurch Street line were delayed due to flooding at Pitsea and West Horndon.
Rail services on the Liverpool Street line were also affected this morning after a vehicle hit a bridge in Rayleigh.
The line was re-opened just after 8am, but commuters still faced delays of up to an hour.
A section of the A127 Southend-bound from the M25 to the Halfway House was also severely affected this morning.
A woman was taken to Southend Hospital after her car collided with a lorry on the A127 at Rayleigh at about 6.50am. Her injuries were not life threatening.
Ambulance crews were called to the A127 West Hordon in Brentwood at to a report of a vehicle spun on the carriageway and collided with another at about 7.15am. A man was assessed at the scene and did not require to travel to hospital.
Paramedics assessed a man after a car collided with a wall in St Johns Road, Clacton, at about 7.40am.
A man escaped uninjured after a car collided with the central reservation of the A12 Mararetting, Ingatestone, near to junction 14 about 7.55am.
