PLANS for 87 new flats in Wickford have been rejected by Basildon Council.
The committee debated the plans for two hours and decided to reject the application for the development on Golden Jubilee because of highway issues and the lack of parking on the site.
Officers from Bellway Homes, who were present at the meeting, attempted to change the plans at the last minute by suggesting a filter lane for traffic into and out of the development but it was still rejected by the committee on Tuesday night.
