PACKAGE holidays to party island Ibiza will soon be coming to Southend Airport.

From May 2014, Thomson and First Choice will fly people on package deals to the popular Balearic Island - where prime minister David Cameron recently enjoyed a sun-drenched break.

Britain’s leading holiday firm began offering flights to Majorca from Southend Airport last month, but announced during a tour of the new terminal extension yesterday it will be tripling its services.

As well as offering package deals to Ibiza, an extra flight a week to Palma will also be available.

This means holidaymakers can choose to go on ten or eleven night trips as well as the standard week and fortnight holidays.

EasyJet already offers flights from Southend to Ibiza as well as Amsterdam, Alicante, Barcelona, Belfast, Edinburgh, Faro, Geneva, Ibiza, Jersey, Malaga, Majorca and Venice.

In just two weeks customers will also be able to visit Berlin, Krakow and Newquay after the budget airline decided to transfer one of its A319s to the airport.
