A WOMAN who died after being hit by a car in an Orsett car park has been named.
Joyce Lewis, 80, from Grays, was walking across the car park at the Foxhound pub, in High Road, when she was struck by a green Vauxhall Corsa.
She was taken to Basildon Hospital following the incident, which took place at about 1.45pm on Wednesday July 31, before being transferred to the Royal London Hospital where she later died.
An inquest was opened and adjourned at Chelmsford on Wednesday, August 7.
Police are still investigating the circumstances leading to the collision and want to speak to a man whose black Volkswagen Golf was parked nearby and was involved in a slight impact from the Corsa.
