TWO swimming instructors, who took to Facebook to mock a child struggling in the water during a lesson, have resigned from their jobs at Wickford pool.
The pair resigned when it emerged they made comments on the social networking site about the child who went under water three times during a swimming lesson at the pool, in Market Road.
The comments – which included an instructor moaning about getting her hair wet and laughing at the child – went public and Sports and Leisure Management, which operates the pool, carried out an investigation.
The firm said it was “disappointed” with the comments, while councillors labelled them “disgusting”.
In the lengthy post, the female worker said she did not want to get her hair wet as she would look like a “drowned rat all day”, and ordered a colleague to go into the water and take care of the child.
