Echo reader Garry Neave-Houghting reports:
Last night all access to Rochford was closed apart from via Hullbridge, due to the flooding, Rochford train station for Hall Road was closed due to around 3 feet of flooding, the bridge at Rectory Road was closed due to around 3-4 feet of flooding and then the main access from southend by the Horse and Groom pub had to be closed as it was too deep and dangerous for vehicles to go through.
I would say there must have been close to 100 people that had abandoned their vehicles wading through the 2-3 foot of water just to get home, but there was some singing and plenty of help, so it was nice to see the town helping others get home.
