TWO KITESURFERS needed rescuing in separate incidents off Shoebury on Sunday.
Southend Coastguard were called at 6.23pm to reports of a kitesurfer in difficulty.
The man lost his kite and was walking ashore by the time they arrived. He was unhurt.
A second kitesurfer was helped ashore by Southend RNLI hovercraft a short while later at 7.12pm.
He was also uninjured.
Southend RNLI inshore lifeboat had earlier attended to a ten year old boy who was in trouble next to Southend Pier.
The child was rescued from the water at 1.41pm and met ashore by Southend Coastguard and Essex Ambulance who assessed him but he did not need treatment.
