CASTLE Point council is looking for feedback from Thundersley residents living in mobile homes and caravans.

People living in Kingsley Park will receive a questionaire in the coming weeks, asking them if they think the council’s services meets their needs.

The move comes after the inspector at the Glebelands planning inquiry criticised the council for counting caravans as permanent homes.

Residents living at Holehaven Caravan Park, Kings Park and Torney Bay, on Canvey will also be consulted.

According to Castle Point Council park homes and caravans have become increasingly popular in the borough over the past ten years. Councilbosses say there a number of reasons for this including downsizing, to be closer to their family and friends and the security of a park environment.

Questionaires will be sent to residents in the coming days.

Councillor Jeffrey Stanley, deputy leader of the council, said: “Residents choose to move to caravan homes for a variety of reasons.

“We were recently criticised by the Inspector in the Glebelands planning inquiry for counting caravan as homes.

“This survey, which is anonymous, will help us to understand the reasons, lifestyle and satisfaction of people living at residential caravan parks in Castle Point.”
