A RAIL worker suspended for rescuing a disabled passenger from the tracks has been reinstated but got a warning.
Alan Chittock was disciplined for helping a 71-year-old woman in a wheelchair who fell about 4ft on to the tracks at Southend Central station just minutes before a train was due to arrive on August 28.
The Echo revealed that he had been suspended last week.
A source said today that he received a warning, the lowest possible sanction for an employee, over the incident because he did not tell a signaller to stop the trains before rescuing her.
A spokesman for c2c said today: “A c2c employee has returned to full duties following our investigation into the incident at Southend Central station."
