40ft yacht on fire
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire on board a 40ft yacht last night.
Southend and Rochford crews were called to Wakering Yacht Club in Rochford at 8.30pm.
A couple had left some cooking unattended and the flames caught hold.
Firefighters used backpack water sprayers and a hose on the boardwalk to extinguish the flames as the tide was out.
The boat was badly smoke damaged.
