HUNDREDS of people defied the miserable weather to enjoy fun and frolics at the Old Leigh Regatta this weekend.
The main roads closed to traffic to allow revellers to enjoy the entertainment, food and drink on offer throughout the weekend.
Enthusiastic sea scout members, stallholders and musicians did their best to keep everyone entertained at the event – which was held for the 40th time.
Ken Guyver, 69, from Rochford, said: “I’ve been here a few times before, it’s always fun, it’s like a piece of old England.”
