A SON has appeared in court accused of the murder of his mother.
Oludotun Emmanual Kalejaiye, 21, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court this morning charged with stabbing his 44-year-old mother Tolu Kalejaiye to death at their home in Wethersfield Way, Wickford, on Thursday.
Suzanne Stringer, prosecuting, said: “She was found at her home address in Wickford.
“She was found lying on her back, in her kitchen, with a large laceration to the left side of her neck.
“She was surrounded by blood.”
Kalejaiye, who appeared in red prison-issue sweat shirt and jogging bottoms, had no chance to enter a plea and spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
A police spokesman said: “A post-mortem was carried out on Friday, September 27, and the provisional cause of her death has been given as stab wounds to the neck.”
