A SAFETY barrier is to be put up on a busy main road to protect motorcyclists.
A low rail will be added along the A1089 northbound heading towards the A13 in Thurrock overnight on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
The work will run between 10.30pm and 5am each night, with traffic diverted on to the A13 westbound as far as the A1012 Stifford Interchange, then on to the A13 eastbound.
Paul Robinson from the Highways Agency, said: “The improvements will reduce the likelihood of severe injuries compared to a standard safety barrier and are being introduced because of accidents involving motorcycles at this location.
“We are minimising disruption by doing the work overnight. Road users will be directed on a clearly-signed diversion.”
