A BOY has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car outside Benfleet train station.
Police were called to Station Road, Benfleet at around 7:40am after a young pedestrian was hit by a black peugeot.
The boy, whose age is not yet confirmed, suffered a fractured leg in the collision.
An Essex Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called by the ambulance service following a collision between a car and a young pedestrian in Station Road, Benfleet at around 7:40am.
"A black peugeot being driven by a woman in her 30s was in a collision with a young male pedestrian who is being treated for a fractured leg.
"Any witnesses are being asked to contact their local police station on 101."
