ESSEX'S first men’s roller derby team is looking for new members.
John Webb, 33, who referees a female Roller Derby team called Seaside Siren Roller Girls has decided to start a team of his own.
Roller Derby isafast, full-contact sport played on roller skates on an oval track, more commonly in this country, by women.
Mr Webb, of Argyll Road, Westcliff, said: “In the past the only way into roller derby for men was asareferee, but in the past two years, men’s teams have exploded in the UK.
“Essex hasareally strong skating scene, with four really well-attended rinks, so I’m hoping there will be plenty of interest.”
