A THEATRE school funded by Dragon’s Den star Duncan Bannatyne recently launched at the Sweyne Park School in Rayleigh.

Razzamataz Theatre Schools have been opening across the country since founder and director Denise Hutton-Gosney appeared on the show in 2007.

Mr Bannatyne was quick to spot the huge potential of the part-time theatre schools’ business and offered the full investment. This has enabled the team to rapidly grow the company and turn Razzamataz into one of the top part-time theatre schools in the UK.

Among the children enrolling for the classes were Loue Haydon, aged 11, from Wyburns Primary School and Ellen Carter, aged 14, from the Fitzwimarc School, both of whom were lucky prize winners securing a free term’s tuition at the school.

Catherine Morales, principal of the theatre school, said: “I am delighted to be bringing Razzamataz’s unique blend of performing arts to local children.

“Our team of qualified and experienced teachers are passionate about what they do and the structure of the classes allows children to enjoy and learn about the whole spectrum of performing arts in a fun and stimulating environment.

“Razzamataz makes sure that it reflects the current trends that are accessible to children and teenagers so they never get bored.”

Razzamataz in Rayleigh is offering free taster sessions each Saturday throughout October. Places are limited so call Catherine on 01268 683512.

Children enrolled by November will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a free term’s scholarship. For more information visit razzamataz theatreschools.co.uk.
