A TEENAGER will appear in court charged with drug and driving offences after his car flipped in Southend.
Harrison Marshall, 19, of Wyburns Avenue, Rayleigh, crashed his Renault Clio at 3.45am on Tuesday, July 9 on Cuckoo Corner, Southend.
The incident affected the junction with Victoria Avenue and the road was closed from Fairfax Drive to Cuckoo Corner until 7am.
When police arrived at the scene, the black car was on its roof. Marshall, who was 18 at the time, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
He has now been charged with driving whilst unfit through drugs and driving without due care and attention.
A police spokesman said: “Harrison Marshall was arrested at the scene and has now been charged with one count of driving whilst unfit through drugs and one count of driving without due care and attention.
“The 19-year old fast food outlet employee from Wyburns Avenue in Rayleigh is currently on police bail and is due to appear at Southend Magistrates Court on October 17.”
