A MAN, alleged to have allowed three horses to stray on to the road, is to be prosecuted by police.
Four horses were found wandering on the A132 Nevendon Road, Wickford in the early hours of Monday September 23.
Police raced to the scene and managed to round up the horses before they were injured or caused an accident.
Three of the animals were found to belong to a 30-year-old man from Wickford. He has been summoned to appear at Basildon Magistrates' Court for allowing animals to stray on the highway.
The owner of the fourth horse is still being sought by police.
