Firefighters tackle blaze at breakers yard
FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze at a breakers yard.
Two appliances from Canvey were called to the fire at the salvage yard in Haven Road at about 8.45 this morning.
Officers used hose reels and breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze which had started in two derelict cars.
It was extinguished in about 45 minutes.
The team was led by station sub officer Graham Meecham, who said investigations were continuing to establish the cause.
