A teenager who admitted attacking a man has been warned to expect to be locked up when she is sentenced next month.
Lisa Jones, 18, of Elmsleigh Drive, Leigh, admitted assaulting David Smith when she appeared at Basildon Crown Court.
Adjourning the case, Judge Peter Dedman told her: "The reason I am asking for a probation report is not because I think there is any likelihood anything other than a custodial sentence. If I was in your shoes, would not go away today, with any false sense of optimism."
Jones was released on conditional bail and will return for sentencing in early February.
