Generous students, staff and friends of Belfairs High School have raised almost £3,000 for charity so far this school year.
Starting in October with Breast Cancer Awareness week the Leigh school raised £1,637 pounds with collections, a games night, and a school's staff calendar sale.
Sales of pink cakes made by students raised over £40 in one 20-minute break.
Poppy sales ahead of Remembrance Day raised £86 and, also in November, £55 went to Esther Rantzen's Childline charity. Year 7 pupils also prepared Christmas boxes to be sent to children abroad.
Headteacher John Duprey said: "In December each year our sixth formers hold a charity week, having chosen the charities they wish to support."
"This year the events included a students versus staff netball and basketball matches and a raffle. Over £112 was raised by a group of 11 students who played chess against teacher Norman Beswick - simultaneously.
"Teacher Jonathon Peters and sixth former Craig Thompson endured a leg waxing session, while Kyle Springford had his hair cut back to a number one by former Belfairs student Kirk Sanders of local salon Urban Edge. We are always amazed at the generosity of people here at Belfairs."
