A McDonald's restaurant was left without its famous golden arches after a thief stole them.
A 6ft by 6ft version of the company's logo was pinched by thieves who somehow managed to remove it from an outside wall and carry it off.
Police believe the thieves used a vehicle to make their escape with the giant M, from the McDonald's restaurant next to Southend Airport.
A white VW Polo was seen in the area around the time the logo, worth £400, was stolen.
Officers are examining CCTV footage of the area in the hope the crooks may have been caught on camera.
Anyone with information on the crime, which took place between 2.15am and 2.35pm, on Sunday should call Southend police on 01702 431212.
