A CRASH involving a lorry and a car partially blocked London Road in Rayleigh.
Police attended the scene having been called by the ambulance service at 4.43pm.
The incident, at the junction with Station Road, caused delays in both directions, but the congestion had cleared by 6.25pm.
The ambulance service treated a casualty at the scene but their injuries were not believed to be serious.
Earlier in the afternoon three fire crews were called to a three-vehicle accident on an A127 sliproad at the Nevenden Interchange.
Fire crews cut the roof off one vehicle to remove a casualty.
The ambulance service attended, treating two patients at the scene and took one for further treatment at Basildon hospital.
Her injuries were not believed to be serious.
