ALMOST half of homes on a newly built housing estate in Thundersley have been sold.
The Ashcroft Place development, in Kiln Road, was launched by Castle Point mayor Maryse Isles during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, March 27, and already nearly half its 150 homes have been sold.
The estate, built by developer David Wilson Homes, offers two, three, four and five-bedroom houses.
It was officially opened by the mayor and children from Kingston Primary School, in Church Road.
David Eardley, managing director of the developers, said: “We were delighted the mayor, Maryse Iles, and representatives of Kingston Primary School, could be with us to mark the launch of the next phase of Ashcroft Place.
“The initial phase proved to be very popular, with the majority of buyers being local people. Judging by the response we have already had, especially from the local community, phase two looks set to eclipse this.”
The Government’s Help to Buy scheme is available for new buyers at the development, and allows people to put down just a five per cent deposit on homes valued between £287,995 and £649,995.
Mr Eardley added: “Our showhome is open and we have floor plans available to view for all our house types, allowing purchasers to consider buying off plan.
“We can help buyers find the right home for them, as well as explain the help to buy scheme which has already helped thousands of homebuyers to move.”
