POLICE have raided drug dens across the borough in response to tip-offs about suspicious activity.
Officers raided locations in Basildon, Vange, Pitsea and Billericay, arresting 11 people and seizing heroin, crack cocaine and thousands of pounds.
Two teenagers, one just 13, were among those arrested in the raids.
The raids formed part of a concerted effort by a dedicated team of Basildon-based police which is focusing on drug dealing Sgt Ben Woollard, who led the team behind the raids, said: “We are cracking down on drug dealers in the borough.
“We have been given an opportunity by the Basildon commander, Josie Hayes, to really make a difference in this community, and we’re working flat out every day to bring offenders to justice.
“We won’t tolerate drug activity and associated criminality.
“My message to the public is this – give us the information and we will do the rest. Where we receive information from the public, we will act positively.
We are dedicated to making the lives of criminals difficult in the area we police and beyond.”

APRIL 1 Moat Edge Gardens, Billericay – a 47-year-old man was arrested for possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
About £2,200 was seized, along with about £3,600 of cannabis.
APRIL 3 Rydene, Vange – a suspicious man fled from police. Shortly afterwards 179 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, with an estimated value of £1,790, were found discarded in a bush.
APRIL 4 Honeypot Lane, Basildon – two 19-year-old men and a 17-yearold youth were arrested for possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. Crack and heroin worth an estimated £2,395 and about £900 was seized. They were released later on police bail.
APRIL 7 Church Park Road, Pitsea – a house was raided and three people were arrested for possession Class A drugs with intent to supply. A boy of 13, a man aged 38, and a woman aged 41 were arrested and later freed on bail. Crack cocaine and heroin, worth an estimated £1,500 was seized, along with about £500.
APRIL 9 Kent View Road, Vange – police serve a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act and four people are arrested for possession Class A drugs with intent to supply. An 18-year-old, two 30-year-old men and a woman of 35 were later released on police bail. Crack cocaine and heroin worth an estimated £270 were seized, along with £190
