TWO people were taken to hospital after a crash in Southend.
The smash took place at the junction of Victoria Avenue and West Street where a lamppost was knocked over as a result of the collision which took place at 11.30pm on Sunday night.
A blue Fiat Punto was involved in the smash with a black Mercedes 320.
A police spokeswoman said that two people were taken to Southend Hospital for treatment.
There was a large amount of oil spilled over the road and sand had to be spread out to make the area safe.
