A LORRY hitting a railway bridge caused a cancellations and delays on the Greater Anglia line from Southend Victoria to London Liverpool Street this morning.
The lorry hit the bridge on Greensward Lane, Hockley, at around 10.30am this morning, forcing the closure of the line between Hockley and Rochford.
Network Rail attended the site of the accident to assess the bridge and the line had reopened by 11.21am.
Greater Anglia trains either terminated at Wickford or were delayed by up to one hour at short notice.
The London Underground accepted Greater Anglia tickets for passengers to catch c2c rail services from Fenchurch Street and West Ham.
