There was a double celebration in Wickford today as a neighbouring school and a nursery achieved great Ofsted results.
Beauchamps School, in Beauchamps Drive, has been given the highest accolade of being marked outstanding in every single category, during the inspection.
While Launch Pad nursery, which is in the grounds of the school, scored highly too, with special congratulations going to Nicky Slater, who took over the running of the nursery just five months ago.
Explaining life at Beauchamps School, the Ofsted report said: "The care and support for students and the relationships between the students and adults are outstanding, as is students' personal development.
"Students thoroughly enjoy school and say their teachers really care about us'."
Headteacher Philip Bell said: "This is a tremendous achievement which reflects the ethos of the school and is a tribute to the hard work of everybody involved in the school community.
"We will be striving to continue to reach new frontiers in the future."
The report on Launch Pad nursery highlighted how the children, from newborn to five years, benefit from, "well planned use of the learning environment and a wide range of equipment and resources available".
Newly appointed officer in charge, Nicky Slater was praised for her dedication and leadership.
She said: "I am over the moon with the report.
"But I've had great support from the staff, who made it a lot easier and the parents, who we have a good relationship with.
"Next year we can build on it and get an outstanding'."
