BUSINESSES in the Rochford district were given a boost on Wednesday as more than 60 business leaders and professionals attended an event hosted by the council.
The council’s first ever business summit was aimed at boosting economic growth in the district and was hailed a success by all who attended.
Held at the Rayleigh Club golf resort, it gave attendees a chance to find out about investment opportunities and meet the council’s economic development team, who provide support to local businesses.
Shaun Scrutton, the council’s head of planning and transportation, said: “It’s important that we seek the input of local businesses to ensure the Rochford District Economic Growth Strategy achieves results in the years to come.”
The summit provided workshops by business professionals and government bodies including specialists from the council, much to the pleasure of visiting business owners.
Tony Robertson of GT Audio and Visual, Rayleigh, said: “The council do their upmost to support businesses and this Summit is another fine example of this."
The summit was run in conjunction with Low Carbon Business, who offer funding opportunities for businesses to become more energy efficient.
