SOUTHEND’S homeless charity HARP want people to join their spring walk on Sunday, May 11.

The three-and-a-half mile walk, along Prittle Brook Greenway from Priory Park to Belfairs Park, will help raise vital funds for the charity’s emergency services.

Walkers can enjoy tea and cake after the walk at the Belfairs Park Woodlands Centre, and even make the return journey on foot if they feel up to it.

Catherine Hodgson, part of HARP’s fundraising team, said: “This is a great opportunity for a family stroll on a Sunday afternoon as the walk is not too strenuous and safe for buggies and even four legged friends.

“Every year HARP helps up to 2,000 people who are homeless within our community and without HARP many local people would be left on the streets with nowhere to turn to.

“So please help to keep our vital services operating by taking part to raise some money for us.”

Entrance fees are £8 for adults, £4 for children and £20 for a family.
