GARDENING enthusiasts can look forward to the Southend Garden Show at the Garon Park Showground this May Bank Holiday weekend.
Featuring a treasure trove of the finest trees, shrubs, flowers and pot plants, the show, which takes place 9.30am to 5pm from May 3 to 5, will be bursting with ornaments, water features and plants galore. Whether you want to create a fun space, organic vegetable plot or family-friendly patio, the show will be filled with everything you need to transform your garden into a personal haven.
The ‘How to’ theatre will feature a fertile mix of gardening experts and botanists, eager to share their spades of knowledge and tips, one of which includes BBC Ground Force star Tommy Walsh who will be demonstrating how to build a garden bench on BH Monday. There will be a garden landscape design constructed by the Southend Council Youth Offenders as well as indoor plant displays ranging from Japanese Maples to Roses and Cacti. There will also be a huge range of stands in the Shopping Village Marquee with all the latest products, including gardening tools and gadgets, plants and homeware, crafts and gifts. The food and drink stands will be overflowing with cheeses, special sausages, fine wines, pickles, chutneys and more with many stallholders tempting visitors with ‘try before you buy’ nibbles.
Kids can enter free when tickets are booked online. For more information or to book advanced discounted tickets to the Southend Garden Show, visit: www.aztecevents.co.uk/gardenshows.
