Jordan Carpenter has proved she is more than able to blow her own trumpet by passing her grade eight music exams with honours.
The Year 11 musician has been playing the trumpet since she was just seven years old.
She said: "My older brother was playing the trombone and I wanted to as well, but I was too little to carry it so I started on the trumpet, and it just stuck.
"I like it because it makes a loud noise, which is great."
Jordan, who goes to FitzWimarc School, Rayleigh, plays with the Essex Youth Orchestra and is off to college to study for a national diploma next year.
