A Spanish restaurant serving tapas could soon be taking the place of a town centre shop.
Tragus Holdings has applied for planning permission to turn 34-36 London Road, Southend, into a restaurant.
It is currently occupied by Regal Furnishing.
The London company wants the site to become the latest addition to its new chain of Spanish restaurants called Ortega, which was launched about six months ago.
Tragus Holdings already runs the Bella Italia restaurant at the top of Southend High Street.
Southend Council will decide on the application in the coming months.
