Detectives were today hoping a television appeal will help them catch the people who nearly cost a young mum her life.
Ann-Marie Cuffy, 26, had been on a night out at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet with her sister Kimberley when the pair tried to break up a fight.
During the struggle both sisters were attacked with an iron bar and Ann Marie was stabbed and left fighting for her life, with doctors giving her just a one percent chance of survival.
Remarkably she was back at her home in Bow, east London, after spending three weeks in intensive care, but has still been unable to return to work.
The evening of horror continued when, a short time after the stabbing, a 23-year-old East London woman, who had been standing near a parked car on the A1306 Arterial Road, was hit by a dark blue car.
She received serious face and head injuries and witnesses said the driver deliberately drove at her.
Both incidents are believed to be linked.
Six months on, police are hoping an appeal which goes out on on ITV1's Reward programme tonight at 9pm will bring forward new witnesses.
Officers are still looking to trace a Honda Civic car, possibly an R or P plate, containing two black men which would have had damage to its front passenger-side.
It may have had a "For Sale" sign in one or more of the rear windows.
They are also keen to speak with the owners of an old-style BMW, which may have been involved in a crash in the Circus Tavern car park.
Anyone with information about the stabbing or the crash, which happened at around 3am on Saturday, May 27, 2006, can contact police at Grays on 01375 391212 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
