Helping out Little Havens Hospice is proving to be a real family affair in Leigh.
Tarnya Parker, 31, of Rothwell Close, is running the London Marathon for the charity in April.
To help with the fundraising, her nine-year-old son Shane is performing with his choir next month and the money is going towards his mum's charity drive.
Shane is a member of Kids Choir 2000, a group that perform chart hits from Oasis and U2.
They are singing at St Aidan's Church hall, in the Fairway, Leigh, on Saturday, February 3.
Mrs Parker is aiming to raise £1,300 and is running the marathon with her friend Wendy Cook from Corringham.
"I ran it last year for Little Havens and it was absolutely awful," Mrs Parker said.
"It was torrential rain and after about 20 miles I couldn't see a thing.
"I said I was never going to do it again, but after a while I was getting nagged and decided I would.
"The training has been going quite well, but I'm supposed to be going out running 16 miles along Southend seafront where apparently there are still strong winds expected."
Mrs Parker is also hosting a wine tasting evening at the Paris Restaurant, in London Road, Westcliff, on February 8.
